Hi. My name is Chad Skaggs. I am an infantry platoon sergeant based in Twentynine Palms, CA.
The family of one of my Marines has fallen on some hard times. His mother is a personal trainer, and has endured some hard times with everything shutting down. To help, he has been sending her half of his paycheck (which, if you are familiar with enlisted pay, is not a lot). This has not left him with much money between paychecks.
A few things make matters a bit harder. This Marine lost his father at a young age, and there is not immediate family to help. To compound matters, his mother has recently contracted the COVID-19 and cannot work.
I'm asking that we all pitch in a little bit to help out this Marine's family through their hardship. Money raised will be transferred to the family's church via their pastor - himself a former Marine. They will use the money to help the family pay daily bills, provide groceries and similar. All proceeds will go to the family.
Together, let's prove "Semper Fidelis" is more than just a bumper sticker. This is the way of our people.
