Hello Everyone
Corey began experiencing symptoms of Covid the first week of March, 2020. His symptoms progressively worsened after the initial onset of fevers and breathing difficulties, which led to a seizure and more than four trips to the ER in April due to heart complications and other difficulties. Other symptoms he had and continues to have include heart arrhythmias, ear ringing/popping, diaphragm pain, coughing, fatigue, fevers, bulging lymph nodes, migraine headaches, and loss of balance and trouble standing for long periods of time without feeling faint. Corey suspected it might be cancer in august 2020 and a oncologist in las vegas told him he was crazy no way it was cancer and that he just has post viral syndrome and refused to biopsy his enlarged lymph nodes. He’s seen numerous specialists in fields that include Immunology, Dermatology, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Chinese Medicine, Pulmonary, Neurology, Oncology and Endocrinology. After a year and still no improvement in symptoms , Corey had a CT scan done that showed that his spleen is severely enlarged and diseased with multiple lesions on it as well as lesions in his stomach lungs neck and groin. After discovering this, a lymph node biopsy was performed at UCLA, and on March 3rd, 2021 was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
This experience has been the most difficult challenge Corey has faced so far in his life. especially mentally. We've witnessed first hand the challenges and fears of people experiencing illness that is new and unknown to a medical community that’s confused and struggling. We can wholeheartedly say that through this we have gained new perspectives and appreciations for care giving, life, diet, and health, as well as love for the wonderful gift of continuous learning and compassion.
Together we are starting a Go Fund Me to support Corey’s existing and future medical expenses. Any donation would mean so much to Corey and all of us.
