After an extensive research and consultation with artists, curators, collectors, critics, gallery owners and philanthropists both in Bolivia and the UK, we created the Contemporary Bolivian Arts Trust (CBAT) with the main objective of generating more opportunities for Bolivian artists.
We initiated partnerships with museums, universities, art galleries, and other institutions with an interest in contemporary visual arts and established the below initiatives:
• Develop our first a fully funded 3-month residency programme at Gasworks (an innovative, contemporary visual arts organisation based in London) and awarded 1 artist in 2019 — +100 artists applied.
• Launch our first art contest “Feelings during Covid-19’s Quarantine” awarding 15 artists in 2020 — +250 artists applied.
• Spread information about international residency/contest opportunities and incentivize artists to participate — +2,000 artists as audience.
