Connor Issac Houde

Our son Connor Isaac Houde was diagnosed with a rare disorder called prune belly syndrome. This is caused by a lower urinary tract blockage and keeps the baby from emptying his bladder. The bladder swells almost to the size of the mother's and causes pressure on the kidneys. Because of the pressure the kidneys have formed many cysts and he will have kidney problems at birth that may require dyalisis or transplants when he is old enough. Another issue with Connor is he has low amniotic fluid, this puts him at a higher risk of crushing his cord and will cause him to have underdeveloped lungs since he doesn't have as much room to move, expand and grow.
With all of his issues he is going to require weekly check ups and ultrasounds that we will be traveling to Boston weekly and Philadelphia on occasion . We can't say thank you enough for the support we have already received, and people continue to ask to help so we decided to make this. We understand a lot of people don't have any extra to donate, but if you want to help even the smallest amount goes a long way and will go directly to the travel cost or medical bills to give Connor his best fighting chance!
