My daughter, Connie Foster, will be going through a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas beginning March 3, 2020. She will be there for 21 days to begin with. Then, she will return to Houston every month for approximately four months.
Connie's cancer history:
August 2019 - Connie has been diagnosed with new lesions on her liver along with MDS - myelodysplastic syndromes which is a blood cancer and is considered pre-leukemia. Her doctor (Courtney DiNardo @ MD Anderson) said the MDS takes precedence over the liver cancer and must be taken care of first. She will begin chemo treatments for this on 9/17/19. Dr. DiNardo will try to treat the liver along with the blood.
November 14, 2018 - Connie was diagnosed with colon cancer. A colonoscopy at MD Anderson on November 14, 2018 revealed a 3 cm malignant mass in the upper left section of her colon. On January 8, 2019, Connie underwent colon surgery in Texas. They did a re-section of the colon and, while in there, the surgeon found 2 spots on her liver that were removed and biopsied. These were also cancer. Connie went through 8 chemo treatments at Greenville Cancer Institute in SC from February 2019 through July 2019.
May 2014 - Connie was diagnosed with cancer of the parotid gland. Surgery was done at that time to remove the parotid gland.
January 2011 - Connie was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer (left breast) AND sarcoma - a very large mass located under her right arm and side which was caused from the radiation that she had in 2005. It was at that time that she was referred to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas where she underwent chemotherapy for several months followed by a 14-hour surgery in August 2011. She continued to travel to MD Anderson every 3 months for routine scans and tests.
May 2004 - Connie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer (right breast) following the birth of her first child. She underwent extensive chemotherapy, surgery and radiation that year and into 2005. She did well in the years following that.
