We are Denise, Emilio and Manolo, a family of warriors and we are Connected By Life!
Emilio, our son, was born on 08/12/2017 at only 28 weeks, weighing 1.8 pounds and 11.4 inches.
We expected an early arrival because of Denise’s issues with pre eclampsia and kidney chronic disease, which lead to dangerously high blood pressure (220/120) for both mom and baby, thus the team of doctors decided that Emilio had to be born that same day.
He came to the world proving to be a real fighter, he cried since the very first moment he was born. He was immediately taken to the NICU where he spent his first 74 days of life in the hospital.
NICU stay was full of challenges, we found the way to stay together every single day and give our baby love and strength.
Despite being a strong and stable baby, he had to undergo three surgeries, a major at 15 days of age and the next two at two months old, of which he recovered amazingly and with the best attitude. Nurses in the NICU loved him because he was always easygoing and content.
He was discharged on December 25th, our best Christmas present ever! We are absolutely sure that Emilio is doing so well because of everyone’s prayers, thoughts and good vibes, also because he’s been been in the hands of the best doctors and caregivers we could find for our little warrior, which we thank infinitely.
However, it has also left us with VERY strong economic challenges, which have already far exceeded our ability to keep afloat, in addition, Denise had to stop working since August to take full-time care of her health since she has been hemodialysis several times a week and in preparations for kidney transplant.
Throughout the process we have been very blessed and in the past few weeks, we received the incredible news that Manolo would be Denise’s donor, confirming our total and absolute compatibility in evry aspect!
... The not so good news is that surgery will be in three weeks ☺
With your contribution and support we can solve expenses not covered by the insurance company and continue with the care that Emilio still requires since he was born extremely premature, and the expenses generated by the kidney transplant of Denise and, where Manolo’s insurance does not cover surgical expenses.
We are CONNECTED BY LIFE, we already PROVED that miracles exist and now, with your support and energy, we will make a miracle even bigger in this family!
At the moment, our trusted cousin Leonard Durocher is helping us manage our finances and accounts since we already have so much in our hands, so he will be recieveng the funds in our behalf.
