It all started with Alex Stobbs, a gifted pianist and composer with cystic fibrosis. Inspired by Chopin, also believed to have been born with the condition, Alex has composed music to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis and its devastating effects.
To draw attention to his fantastic work, in September 2018, we are taking a grand piano to the heights of the Zanskar Mountain Range to perform the highest musical concert ever in India at 5,000m. High altitudes can go some way in simulating the breathing difficulties caused by cystic fibrosis, and 'Concerts in the Clouds' is all about how music can cut through the barriers put up by disability, distance or adverse conditions. In building our own concert hall from plastic bottles, we aim to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
Through our sponsor, we have already raised £7,500 for our charity partner, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We are aiming to raise another £10,000, which is £2 for every meter we ascent. With your support, we can help Alex and others with cystic fibrosis to live a life unlimited by the condition. Will you go up the mountain with us for cystic fibrosis?
