Emergency Resources 4 Children: Zambia & COVID-19

Tax deductible
The Malalo Sports Foundation (MSF) is a Zambian 501 (c) 3, dedicated to providing opportunities to over 800 young people in their Copperbelt region.

The MSF is fundraising with support from World Computer Exchange for food supplements for their community of 800 people.

See some of their programs here: http://www.malalosport.com/goals.html

Zambian Economy

Food Insecurity: 62% of Zambia's population living off of less than $2 a day, below the global poverty line (HabitatforHumanity, 2017).

A family of six needs $5 for food per day.

New challenges for food security have increased due to restricted movements caused by COVID-19.

The world right now is unstable because of COVID-19. The Zambian government has appealed for international support, but that is insecure as every nation struggles with this global pandemic.

The children need sanitizer, masks, and educational supplies to study on top of additional nutritional supplements.

If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Kebby, the Executive Director for Malalo Sports Foundation here: [email redacted]

Please be patient for replies as he is currently dealing with reduced internet access in Zambia.

 Malalo Sports, a Zambian 501-c (3) organization:

We are based in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. The MSF is a community center that focuses on community enrichment. We offer opportunities for young people to play sports, opportunities to avoid high-risk decision making.

We have soccer and chess clubs for multiple age groups as well as other athletics and educational activities.

Our community school, Kenani Community School, is for grades 1-12, as well as supports elderly care.

Our greater projects help support about 800 people.  Within the network of our school, we support 400 people in our community, between the ages of 5-15.  Our football (soccer) program is utilized by over 300 students, ages 8-17. Additionally, elderly care accounts for about 100 people ages 60-75.

World Computer Exchange, Inc:
20 years of volunteers refurbishing donated computers that we have shipped to 50 developing countries to connect nearly 5 million youth in 3,400 schools.

Our volunteers also develop a wide range of educational content we load in each computer for access when they cannot afford to get to the internet.

We also send teams of volunteers to help troubleshoot and train. We also have refurbishing clubs in schools in resources for teachers who want to inspire girls to pursue careers in technology. Please donate!
