Feeding victims of Hurricane Maria

Donation protected

Caguas, a town inland Puerto Rico has around 4,000 low-income families whose lives have been shattered by Hurricane María. There's no food available, no electricity for cooking or refrigeration, no drinking water.

Everything has to be paid in cash, but ATM access is limited, and these families have no surplus cash. Urbe a Pie and Comedores Sociales de Puerto Rico have opened a community kitchen to provide two nourishing meals a day to this ravaged population which includes the elderly, children, handicapped people and the homeless.

In exchange, those who can volunteer their work or share canned goods. We are also starting a Community Garden to provide fresh foods and vegetables since it's estimated that 90% of island crops were wiped out by Hurricane Maria.
