community support for mo’s album 'gather'
hello dear ones known and yet to be known~
for those of you i don’t yet know, my name is mo. i am a bodyworker, deep listener, song and earth tender, educator, community gatherer, lover, agender human who uses they/them pronouns, based in occupied coast miwok/southern pomo territory, also known as west sonoma county, california.
i’m excited to share that in april, i will be recording an album of music called ‘gather’- to be released this summer.
as a steward of these songs, i need your help to lift them up and out into the world.
my goal is to raise $15,000 during the month of march. any amount you contribute will be incredibly helpful. if you would consider sharing this campaign via social media and any other tendrils of communication in your life, i would be so grateful.
this is a collection of songs that have come through me as gifts from from streams, the ocean, from the moon, the forest, and from muses in the unseen realms. they are songs to help us re-member, songs to sing solo and together with other humans and our more than human kin, songs to sing outdoors and in, songs to help orient us, songs to be sung as offerings and in gratitude- a balm for our hearts in these times, in the form of sound, weaving us with the web of life.
with any amount you contribute, i will send you a link to the album once it is finished and will invite you to a virtual gathering sunday april 18th, when i will teach you a bundle of these songs.
‘gather’ budget:
$6,000 studio time and mixing
$1,000 mastering
$1,000 instrumentation support
$500 administrative support (including helping me register music on virtual platforms, update my website to include a music tab, help with emailing fundraising contributors to notify them about the april giving thanks song circle...)
$500 graphic design support
$300 original artwork for the album
$500 100 physical cds
$500 gofundme credit card processing fees
$1,200 to help me take a bit of time off of work so I can focus on recording in april
$3,500 toward collaborating with different filmmakers to give these songs visual expression as a way to share them farther via the interweb.
