Donation protected
THE PROJECT:
Seventh Annual Community Reading of Dylan Thomas’s masterpiece, ‘Under Milk Wood’
Mounted and performed in January/February 2020 at Rutgers Church in New York City (apropos, as this magnificent radio play premiered in New York City, in 1962).
Organized by The Welsh Congregation of New York

FUNDING WILL BE USED TO:
Pay for the services of a professional level theatre director to work in collaboration with the producer to craft an artistic vision for the project. This individual will also cast the piece and rehearse actors, both one-on-one and for scenes.
Engage a composer/musical director to work collaboratively with producer, director and cast member, as well as to work with and engage musicians as apropos.

TIMELINE:
We need funding support asap, as we must hire a director and musi director immediately, to ensure sufficient time for casting and rehearsals.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:
Members of the Welsh community, primarily from New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, to capitalize on proximity,  will be invited to participate in a project of artistic integrity and excellence, driven by values of inclusion and community-building. Any and all others, of any nationality, will also be welcome to participate.

Cast, production and creative team will explore Thomas' magnificent poetic language, grow through striving for artistic excellence, work in close collaboration with fellow cast members, director and music director/composer to commandeer beauty and build community.

Audience members, experiencing this stellar production of Thomas' glittering work, characterized by artistic excellence and imbued with the warmth of community, will be uplifted, inspired and drawn in to the  heart-centered essence of the endeavor.
