The Suba Community Pot began during the Colombian National strike in the spring of 2021, when the FRTFM (Marikon Trans-Feminist Resistance Front) made a Pot in the Suba neighborhood to feed the protesters. With the leftover ingredients from that day, the first Suba Pot was organized.

From that day on and with the help of donations, they bought their own pots and began to make it almost every day, they 've served between 500 to 700 people in major events such as protests, and between 100 to 200 people in low-income neighborhoods, but they need our help to continue:

At this time, the Organization has not been able to keep running since they are struggling to find funds for food, and the car with which we run errands and transport the food needs to be repaired.

In Colombia, the national strike is in a critical point, people continue to fight for their basic rights and the struggle continues in different levels, even if it's not viral in social media anymore. The members of the Suba community pot suffer violent attacks and persecution by the police, they risk their lives almost daily to feed the people.

The $ 8,000 CAD goal will help us:

- Feed 200 people 6 days a week until the end of the year (4 months)
- Cover the car repair
- Remunerate the work of 10 of the volunteers who have been making the pot possible.

We thank everyone for the support they have given us during the strike. We ask to continue donating so that we can keep fighting with the community pot as a symbol of resistance, since with it we have been able to reach various neighborhoods in the city, feeding everyone who needs it.

Only the people save the people, only the people feed the people.
