Community Care for Cancer Fighters

My name is Tom. About 6 months ago, I went in for a routine colonoscopy. Then my nightmare began. They found I had colon cancer. I had surgery to remove part of my colon, and now I am in chemotherapy.

I've noticed a lot of people in my local cancer center have some terrible stories to tell. Many are in financial need but are too ashamed to ask. The current system does not provide for your normal everyday expenses, and many suffer silently. Some even have to sell their houses and move in with family.

We are going to stand outside of two local county cancer centers and hand out envelopes to distribute funds directly to the patients.
