Protecting Uganda's wildlife - with jams!

Donation protected
We, Communauts, create products from Ugandan soil, together with communities living on the borders of protected areas. Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Kibale Rainforest are home to some of the last mountain gorillas, forest elephants and pangolins.  Our products contribute to the protection of these precious areas. And that's why they are named Chunky Monkey Banana Jam, Sweet Pangolin Pineapple Jam, Passionate Crane Passionfruit-Pineapple Jam. Prefer savory? We have Hearty Monkey Ketchup and Hot Elephant Chili Sauce.

In normal times, we sell these organic delicacies to hotels and lodges. But this market has evaporated with Covid-19 restrictions. We successfully started to sell in Kampala to the local better off consumers. But this market is slow at the moment, due to ongoing restrictions. We want to survive, and grow, to expand our contribution to Uganda's beautiful wildlife and people. We need your help!

The idea of Communauts is simple: by giving communities around national parks opportunities for income, pressure on the protected areas from agriculture and poaching is reduced. We also train farmers in sustainable practices. And our products are fully organic and healthy, telling the story of these precious areas.

Doing social business in Uganda is tough. It took us one year to get the glasses to Fort Potal. We focus on sustainability, and did not want to use plastic containers. It took us another year to get certified by the Ugandan Bureau of Standards. Now that we are finally on the market, we are getting amazing feedback by our customers. If we can just survive this difficult time, we can surely grow and create many more jobs and opportunities. We also want to maintain the trusted relationship we build with our farmers and keep buying from them so they can rely on us.

With your donation, we will pay for our production staff, we will be able to travel to Kampala to attend markets and win new customers, and we will onboard sales agents to increase our sales.

Thank you for making a contribution to Uganda's people and nature! We hope you can taste our yummy products soon! We will try to get some over on our next trip and send you some.
