A Communal Mule Project.

This is an effort to reorganize the way I live my life, to free myself from the addiction we all have to fossil fuels and to slow life down with the objective of having more time to be able to think more clearly. Oh, and to stop nearly crashing every time I'm doing drive-by foraging!

This project is about rekindling the traditional skills which are on the brink of disappearing. Many of the folk around Comares still have their mule equipment from the days when they worked the campo with their 'bestias', and proudly relate stories of journeys travelled with their mules and how beautiful the campo looked when freshly ploughed. Of wild flowers. And rivers with fishies in.

The aim is to replace the van and the strimmer with the mule, helping to emancipate myself from the fossil fuel trap whilst igniting a spark of imagination within us all as to what changes we could make to live more sustainably, locally and healthily. To learn from the locals the skills of ploughing with mules that make the campo beautiful and fruitful, to relearn how to feed ourselves in a gentle manner and feel the same kind of pride when we look out over our trees of food.

Esto es un esfuerzo para reorganizar mi manera de vida, para librarme de la adicción que tenemos todos a los combustibles fósiles y vivar de una manera mas lenta, con el objectivo de tener mas tiempo para pensar con mas claridad. ¡Y parar de casi estropear la furgoneta mientras entento a forrajear!

Este proyecto es para reavivár los habilidades tradiciónales que estan a punto de desaparacer. Hay algunas personas en Comares que todavía tienen sus materiales de los tiempos de cuando trabajában en el campo con sus bestias y cuentan con orgullo historias de cuando viajában con sus mulos y lo bonito quedaba el campo recien arado. De plantas silvestres comestibles y rios con agua y peces.

La idea es de sustituír la furgoneta y la desbrozadora por el mulo. Ayundando a emancipárme de la trampa de la industría petroquímico, mientras encendemos una chispa de imaginación entre todos para pensar en los cambios que podemos hacer para vivir de una manera mas sostenible, local y sano. Para aprender de las personas que todovía tienen los conocimientos. Como trabajar con los mulos que dejarán el campo tan bonita y fructífero como antes, y para reaprender como alimentarnos de una manera gentil y sentir el mismo orgullo cuando mirémos a nuestros árboles de comida.
