Angels for Ana (Guillan Barre)

Donation protected
I have created this gofundme to help out one of my dearest friends and comadre, Ana.

Ana, a 30 year old mother of young children had been in and out of the hospital a few times earlier this year, each time she was sent home; doctors could not figure out what was wrong. The weakness, soreness, feeling of numbness, pins and needles, and inability to keep food down would not subside, finally at the beginning of Summer she was admitted, a lumbar puncture was done, and Guillan Barre Syndrome (GBS) was confirmed. Little by little feeling was lost, and in July she was in the ICU and needed the help of a machine to breathe, she also had a tube in her nose to help her eat, and she was connected to several different machines.

This is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the nerve cells and causes paralysis as well as trouble breathing. It can happen to anyone at any point in time, from something as simple as an infection.

After very little progress to her condition and two months of being in the hospital, Ana has been sent home with only a medical bed and very little supplies.

Ana is completely immobile from the neck down and suffers from nerve pain throughout her body, but the progress she has made so far is that:

She can talk and is fed regular food.

She can wiggle her toes.

She can move her first two digits in both hands and is moving her right arm a little.

Though Ana has kept her spirits up, she is unable to walk or take care of her children, and has a long road ahead of her. She requires 24-hour care and is soon to lose her health insurance and job. Her husband has taken time off work, but with supplies being needed and having small children at home, funds are low. Transportation for just one doctor visit alone is $400. However these doctor visits are very short; therefore, needing to continue to go back various times.

Her hair was badly matted and her scalp was developing some bumps, so her head was shaved.

I am asking for donations from anyone and everyone to help them in any way possible to cover medical treatments, transportation, and physical therapy.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and Ana along with her family are grateful for your support and donations.
