It's beyond difficult asking for help. We would never consider this if it wasn't our last resort.
We cannot give all the details as it is not right to violate Mimi's privacy, but those very close to the family can vouch for our need.
Basic information: As many of you know, Megan's mother lives with us. She recently fell in our driveway and she was badly hurt. A fractured pelvic bone, broken foot and shattered teeth. Humana and Medicare will only cover so much, and the rest will be left to her. Along with hospital, dental and doctor visits, medication will also have to be paid; then we must furnish our house to accommodate per home health to continue to provide her a home: A walk in shower, hand rails and a ramp on our front porch, and apparently back porch as all exits are required to be accessible to her in a the case of emergency. The bathroom will have to be tore apart and remade to suit her needs. We are blessed that a wonderful family has offered their contractor services for the bathroom free of charge, and will cut the cost, hopefully, significantly. We have contacted all grant companies and government agencies provided to try to avoid this course of action, but Megan and I are in a situation of unfortunate loop holes. We have exhausted all our funds and options at this point, and soon will take a income cut for a time, due to missing work.
We are looking at $20,000+ and probably more beyond what we can contribute. There's no way Megan and I can pay this, and are struggling to cover regular bills. We are humbly asking for your help. No matter how big or small the donation is, will be greatly appreciated. We will show all we do with the money, be transparent with it, and any left over will be donated to charities if it should reach that point.
We would not resort to this if it wasn't absolutely necessary. From the bottom of our hearts we humbly ask your help. We always try to pay it forward, and will do all we can to continue to do so as we pass this life lesson.
