Give Colter One Last Epic Ride!

Growing up my brother, Colter Bronson, and myself were always into anything with an engine, dirt bikes, four wheelers, snowmobiles, cars, and trucks. He taught me most everything I know about engines, whenever I had a question he was the first person I would call, and he would always have an answer. He also taught me "there's no point in being scared," and that was how he lived life, always willing to do something that I was to scared to try. The one thing we always came back to was dirt bikes. Riding local tracks, traveling down endless trails, and blazing our own trails off-road, the best memories I have are riding dirt bikes with my brother. We had some awesome journeys together! Me on my 2001 CR250R and him on his 2003 CR250R, we went everywhere together on the back of a dirt bike. Inspired by the movie "Dust to Glory" one thing we always planned on doing was riding the Baja 1000, knowing full well that we could never be competitive, we didn't care, we just wanted to finish and be able to say, "We raced the Baja 1000."

Unfortunetly, I couldn't find any decent pictures of us riding together, mostly becasue if one of us was riding the other was riding, no time for pictures...


As we grew up, he moved out and I joined the Navy, but we only grew apart in miles. We would constantly call each other and share our adventures of motorcycles and trucks, always planning on getting together to ride again and talking about the day we would ride the Baja 1000. But with me living in Georgia and him in Oregon it was tough. One of the last times I got to spend time with him was on my wedding where he was my best man, and he lived up to the title!


Recently, on September 13 2014, I lost my brother and his best friend Nikki, a Christmas gift from me in 2012, when his truck failed to make a turn while he was going to help a friend move. He was 27 years old. We were never able to once again ride together and we were never able to ride the Baja 1000. Some of his ashes will be spread up the South Fork of the Flathead river in Montana, a place he dearly loved, the rest I will take from Ensanada to La Paz where I WILL cross the finish line with my brother and spread the remainder of his ashes, giving him one last epic ride! I plan on outsourcing support for the race to Go Baja Riding in order to give me the best chances possible, simply because it will be less of a financial burden and not finishing is not an option. The company will provide a bike for me and my brother to ride, travel to and from the race, pre-run support, pit support, spare parts, and pro mechanics.
