Colin's Tiny Moving Castle

Dear Friends and Family (and random internet strangers),
As some of you know, I've been interested in the Tiny House movement for a long time, and I've been looking for a way to build one for myself. This summer I started to make that happen when I bought a 13 year old, 78 passenger school bus that I intend to turn into a tiny house on wheels - but not just any tiny house! It is going to be my Tiny Moving Castle!
What is a Tiny Moving Castle? I'm glad you asked. anyone can make a tiny house on wheels to look like an average, boring suburban home, but I'm building a piece of art on wheels! This is a Hobbit hole with a diesel engine! I want everything in my home to be hand-made by myself as well as local artists and crafts-people, out of local and recycled materials, and if it can't be made locally then I will buy vintage, but nothing in this home is going to come frome Ikea or Walmart. many of the materials I have collected so far have come from scrap yards, antique stores, flea markets and of course craigslist.
In addition to being a thing of beauty, I also want to make this a real home with things like insulation, heating, electricity and plumbing, and that's why I'm here asking for donations. To make off grid solar electricity a possibility, I've been working with an electrical engineer and I will need 2-4 solar panels, 4 deep cycle batteries, a charge controller and a fuse box for a basic DC system. For heat I have a wood stove, but I need a propane backup, as well as a hudred pound propane tank to run it and the oven. and for plumbing I mostly need a lot of pex piping, pvc, and maybe a perscription for anti-anxiety medication. I have also had some wonderful and tallented people volunteer and I would love to compensate everyone for their work in the future.
While it's hard to come up with an exact number because so many of my materials are second hand, I think the entire project will cost around $10,000, based on the prices I have scoped out, and what other people have done similar projects for. I'm asking for half of that to help make my dream come true. Anything donated beyond $5000 will be used for things like a rooftop deck, or welding the top of another vehicle to the roof to make a loft, or one of the dozen other completely bonkers ideas I've had while brainstorming this bus (slide-outs on the side?).
Thank you all for your support even if it's just a dollar because every dollar helps!
