Help Ugandan Organic Coffee Farmers

Dear Friends,
While recently in Uganda, I met a wonderful man who works for a company that supports and finds markets for local coffee growers. Empire Agriculture Coffee Services Ltd, is an organic certified coffee company in East Uganda marketing coffee for 3,039 smallholder coffee farmers. Johnbosco (JB) Birenge and his colleague, Juma Bunkeddeko, have an opportunity to meet coffee buyers at the Specialty Coffee Expo April, 19-22, 2018 in Seattle, WA, USA to increase the chances of selling more of the farmers' coffee beans and improving the livelihoods of the impoverished rural coffee farmers who belong to an interfaith coffee coop.
This possibility will mean that more of the farmers` coffee will be sold at a increased price and the company will be in position to sustain the additional markets. If we are successful, Empire will initiate more programs like starting a women`s coffee project to build the capacity of women`s employment, i.e. as baristas, export managers and marketing agents.
The fund is to cover the flights, meals, accommodations, convention and visa fees for two people. Empire has already covered $3000 and a friend has covered $1000. The fee balance is needed by the April 12th, 2018.
The coffee farmers, their families and communities would benefit enormously and would be most grateful to receive your support!
In deepest gratitude,
Janet, Johnbosco, Juma and
