Hey everyone, my names Codie West.
I am a singer/songwriter from the uk, my dream is to have a studio album recorded/produced and released onto all major online music Platforms Plus professionally shot music video!
This has been a dream of mine for over 11 years!
Album Name - Codie West 11
A little on my life and what experiences influence me to write music.
I left school very early due to having learning difficulties and a mental health illness that was not diagnosed at the time... I was very disruptive and quite a class clown, eventually I was placed on a reduced timetable of two hours per week.. my GCSE’s are practically non existent.
Music became my main influence and gave me purpose and hope when I was made homeless at age 16, I moved into a hostel surrounded by strangers, drug users and alcoholics,
rather than go down that path I would shut myself away and work on music related projects in my free time. Through the years I have always tried my hardest to produce my own music... though I can never get the production to sound as professional as I would like, after 18 months I moved into my first flat and lived there for a few years, in this time I was burgled 5 times, all of my music equipment ( and more ) was stolen over and over again and I could never get any projects finished. I worked every day and it felt like I was constantly paying for other people to just steal from me. It wasn’t so much the area I lived in. I think it was specifically the people who were targeting me. I almost gave up on music completely... until I thought actually I’m going to move myself away from being surrounded by this negative situation and try to make something better and more positive out of my life. so i decided to up and leave and head to Grease to start a contract as a jersey boy act! what a great experience this was. i met some great people and it had really opened my eyes to a whole new level of performing!
I am certain that music is my absolute dream and I hope with your help my dream can become a reality.
I will be creating a Special Song For The Album (Donations Will Be Made To MIND Mental Health Charity)
I have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder diagnosed by uk psychiatrist Dr Zwi. I do not take medication for this anymore as I felt it put my creativeness to a complete stop and gave me a zombie like attitude. (Although I was very focussed) I lost all creativity. Instead i try to invest my crazy intense personality and mood swings into my music. This is just who i am, i accept that and i don't want medication to control my thoughts or my feelings.
Back to the fundraiser before this gets too deep hahaha!!
