Coach Dustman Medical Bills

Donation protected
Four years ago my father-in-law had his knee replaced and the surgery didn’t go as smooth as we could have hoped for. Ever since then it has had a lot of swelling and caused him a great deal of pain.  Early Monday afternoon (February 12th) my father-in-law (Charlie) woke up with chills, a high fever (104.9) and in a lot of pain. The family was thinking flu due to flu like symptoms. Tuesday morning he was taken to the clinic where he was rushed (code 3) by ambulance to the emergency room. At the ER they discovered the infection in his knee was extremely severe which was causing the pain and the high fevers. He is dealing with cellulitis and sepsis. Today (wednesday) he had surgery to drain the infection in his knee and take out the hardware. The surgery went well and the doctor said the infection was in his bone and was so severe it could have killed him.  He will be In the hospital until Monday on antibiotics and then home on antibiotics thru IV for the next 4-6 weeks. Then he will return for surgery for another knee replacement followed by another 3 months of recovery.
He will be out of work for a total of 5-6 months. He has a wife and three teenage kids (13,14,16) at home to take care of. The family will be seeing a lot of medical bills and I want to start this fundraiser to help out my in laws and to take off some of the stress my mother-in-law has as she already has so much on her plate. This all happend so fast and anything will help them!
Thank you!
