Cameron's Journey

Donation protected
My Nephew Cameron who just turned 13 in March was a happy, care free and athletic young man.  The end of April he was taken  into the hospital because his feet and ankles were swelling.  Little did we know at that time the life changing events that would occur in the coming weeks.  Cameron was diagnosed with FSGS collapsing form which is the most aggressive form of this kidney disease.  Our journey which was supposed to be a year has now turned into not even a month.  They will be performing a complete nephrectomy (removal of both kidneys) and he will be put on dialysis.  This disease has been taking its toll on all his other organs.  Even if we are to find a donor right away Cameron's body  will need to be on dialysis for at least 3 months before he will even be considered healthy enough for a transplant.  With everything going on his mother Erica, has cut her work hours down to nothing as she is by his side as a mother should be.  This has caused a financial hardship with the loss of income, transportation costs, food costs and the additional expenses of taking care of Cameron.  He will now be transferred to either UCSF or Standford to continue his treatment which is even further from his family.  We ask of you to consider making a donation to help ease this financial burden so his mother can continue to be next to her son during his time of need.

God bless you all and please keep Cameron and Erica in your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Cameron's family
