CMPD Joey Strong No Shave November
Donation protected
The Cape May City Police Department is participating in "No Shave November" and this year we will be raising money for Joey Povio. Joey Pavio is a 6 year old boy from Dennis Township, who was diagnosed with retinoblastoma on July 11, 2016. Retinoblastoma is a rare cancer that begins in the retina of the eye. He will undergo at least 6 months of chemotherapy, with hope that his eye can be saved. Each month prior to the 3 consecutive days of treatment, he will have an extensive exam under anesthesia to determine if the chemo is shrinking the tumor. If not, surgery may be needed. We have come together to try and help the family with any uncovered medical costs, travel and hotel stays during his treatments, or to just ease his parent's minds when they must miss work to tend to Joey's needs after his intense chemo treatments. The CMPD is supporting Joey and his family, and all employees participating in "No Shave November" will be donating $50 to this cause. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and ALL of the money will go directly to the family!!
