Clyde is my Newfoundland dog, more importantly he is my best friend and he needs my help to get healthy again. Due to my current financial situation I need to ask others for help.
Clyde has developed a large tumor on his tail and a slightly smaller tumor under his tail. The surgery to remove these tumors along with several other small growths around his backside area will cost approximately $2500.00.
This includes the lab tests, x-rays, sonogram to see if the cancer has spread to his other organs, testing of the tumors to see if they are benign or malignant, in addition to the surgery itself.
I have several opinions from local Veterinarians, the Oncolgy Unit at Blue Pearl and the Soft Tissue Surgical Team at University of Florida Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
The opinions are all along the same track of:
Neuter, remove tumors/growths, and amputate the tail.
The surgeon at UF feels the tumor on the tail could possiblely be cleaned out and save the tail. All tissue would need to be tested so we have a solid confirmation on whether the cancer is benign or malignant.
I know and fully understand things are still difficult for many people but I can't lose my best friend this way.
Please help if you can, if you can't,I understand. And if it's not to much to ask please keep my buddy Clyde in your thoughts and prayers.
