Clubfoot Warrior, Reid!

Reid was born with a severe clubfoot affecting only his left foot. Treatment for clubfoot usually begins a few days following birth, but due to the misdiagnosis by the previous pediatrician, Reid's correction did not begin until he was 3 weeks of age.
The new orthopedic explained to the parents what the treatment plan would actually look like: a series of castings, then a corrective shoe.
Every ten days the old cast would come off, and then a new one would be put on. Sometimes the cast would slid right off of Reid's leg due to error in putting the cast on. That meant one of Reid's parents would have to take off work and pay to have another cast put on. This actually happened three times in a row! After several weeks of casting, and very little change in Reid's foot, the orthopedic said it was time to get fitted for the corrective shoe. The facility that was going to fit the shoe was almost 2 hours away one direction. The long 2 hour drive resulted in a 2 minute appointment where they took ONE measurement of Reid's foot and sent them back home. The shoe arrived about two months later, but Reid's heel cord was so tight his foot wouldn't sit flat! His parents felt concerned with the treatment Reid was receiving from the orthopedic, and decided to get him in to be seen by a specialist at Scottish Rites.
Long story short, the specialist said all of the previous care Reid was receiving from the orthopedic did absolutely nothing. Thousands of dollars wasted! He also said that the corrective process will be a lot longer and more difficult due to Reid being the age that he was. The parents' now 5 month old was having to start the casting process all over again! This meant that every week both parents would take off of work, drive 2 and a half hours one way to get a new cast put on. The new cast every week, went on for 6 weeks. It was now time for Reid to under go surgery to have his heel cord cut to get his foot flat. A cast was placed for 3 weeks, then it was finally time for the boots and bar to go on. Reid will have to return monthly for a check up, and this will continue until he's at least 3 years old.
Reid's dad has insurance, however, the out of pocket expenses are adding up and taking a toll on the family. Lets help this sweet family and adorable little boy out!
