DONOR REWARDS!!
All donors are given access to an exclusive online document of images and designs of the Canard Wingsail, including images of the wingsail on seaborne vessels, so that you can really see the vision evolving.
All donors are invited to a private Facebook group,  here , if that's your thing, and if not, we may develop an alternative exclusive platform too. The FB group is an evolving platform for the Canard Wingsail community which will involve co-promotion of other deeply sustainable causes, and won't be limited to Canard. It's up to you how this develops.
All donors will also be invited to exclusive donor events, for a minimal price of £5-10 per head (not available to non-donors), such as a 'buffet on the barge' event provisionally planned for mid-2021 (dependent on the virus).
Donors who give £20 or more will also receive a little extra, to be fully worked out.
Donors who give £50 or more will also receive something else...watch this space. :-)

WE ARE IN A CLIMATE CRISIS!
Shipping is currently responsible for over 3% of global C02 emissions. This is significant! Shipping is expanding all the time, especially in the Arctic, as with the climate crisis the summer Arctic sea ice melts more and more each year.

Shipping has only recently been regulated for C02 emissions  and other pollutants. Wind-assisted propulsion refers to sails of some kind being added or built into ships so that they use their engines less. Wingsails are one option. They are a bit like vertical aeroplane wings stuck onto ships.

Canard Wingsail, using a globally unique wingsail design, sees itself as part of the solution for a radically sustainable future for shipping -including less big ships and a downsizing of the shipping industry alongside a reduction in imports and exports! Canard Wingsail is based near Plymouth in the UK, but is poised for international impact.

This first round of  funding is for the preparation of technical data and drawings, ready for analysing and assessing the proposed wing sail design by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The CFD analysis itself is a later stage of the Research and Development (R&D) for Canard Wingsail.

This round of funding covers the materials and time of Bob the engineer and Matthew the marketer of CW and manager / promoter of the GoFundMe campaign.

We will keep in touch with all donors to this funding round. We want to build a sense of community around Canard. You will also be invited to all donor events, the first of which will be announced as soon as COVID-19 conditions allow. The first event will likely be a meal out somewhere, where we can all get to know each other and discuss our visions of a more sustainable world.

Don't hesitate to get in touch to ask any questions about Canard Wingsail.

We are also very pleased to announce that we are members of the non-profit organisation, the International Windship Association  (IWSA).
We are fully aligned with the IWSA in promoting the 2020's as the decade of wind propulsion for ships.

Together with all its members which range from the radical and cutting edge to the corporate, the IWSA is making great strides towards bringing the shipping industry to zero carbon emissions, in a soon-as-possible timeframe. This includes supporting sail cargo options as well as wind-assist technologies on engine-driven ships.

The canard wingsail can also be used on smaller coastal and inland ships and boats, an increase in which could contribute to C02 emissions reductions by taking lorries off the roads, especially when combined with hydrogen-driven ships -if the electricity supply is C02-neutral.

Canard Wingsail is Robert Vincent (a design engineer and a very experienced mariner) and Matthew Lepley (a writer, marketer, communicator and climate activist).

Canard Wingsail has a drive up to 40% greater than a conventional wingsail.  Below are examples of the wingsail in application.

Business accounts will be transparent / available for viewing by donors to Canard Wingsail.

Your gratefully received funds will be used on an ongoing basis for:

* Wages for Bob and Matt (and later, the growing team)

* Technical materials for Bob

* Marketing across diverse platforms, including social media posting, video-marketing and fund-raising

* Copious tea and biscuits

More info:

The government-commissioned Absolute Zero UK report says all airports need to shut by 2050 & engine-driven freight shipping needs to dramatically reduce by 2050, to meet the IPCC CO2 emissions reduction targets for a liveable planet.

Canard Wingsail, the IWSA and its member technology providers, shipping companies and other IWSA-associated enterprises, are vital over the next few decades.
