Clif and Gretta Thompson flood

My name is Jo Johns and I live in Pueblo, Colorado. My brother Clif Thompson and his wife Gretta and their 5 year old grandson A.J. , who they have adopted and are raising, lost everything including all of the contents of their home and both of their vehicles in hurricane Harvey. They had renters insurance but it did not cover floods and only one vehicle had full coverage. In the early hours of Sunday,  August 27 they awoke to water coming up from the toilets. They recently (2 months) moved to the Houston area from Colorado. Not knowing what to expect they started cleaning it up, hoping that would be all of the flooding. As they are doing this their doorbell rang and an older couple with 3 dogs were stranded on their street. They took them in and as the water kept rising they knew they had to get out. Clif was able to get everyone to the neighbors house next door who has a 2 story home. The neighbor did not have room for the dogs so Clif went back to his flooded home and put the 3 dogs plus their 2 dogs in their kennels and put them in the attic for the remainder of the night. By this time the water was 5 feet deep and rising.  At daybreak Clif moved the dogs to the 2nd floor deck of a neighbors home. The dogs are all safe. Returning to the house was shocking realizing the water was even higher.  Then the reality set in of the loss of everything from A.J.' s toys to family pictures and keepsakes.  Yesterday they had to leave the 2 story house due to more flooding and were taken in by neighbors down the street.  Gretta suffers from a chronic condition that requires special medication. She has enough to last until Friday.  Clif is hoping he will be able to find a way to get to Buffalo, Texas where Gretta has family. She can have her medication rerouted to that location.  We are desperately hoping that they will get out of this unsafe situation soon as more flooding is expected. Any amount will be greatly appreciated in helping them towards rebuilding their lives.  Even  though they lost everything we thank God they are all safe.
