Dearest Family and Friends,
Many of you know my sister, Sharon Lamkin, was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on July 5, 2017. She had a right lumpectomy on July 28, 2017. My sister was hoping to recover from the surgery in 4 weeks. After she would be able to go back to work while completing her 6 weeks of radiation that would be 5 days a week.
Unfortunately, some of her lymph nodes that were removed came back positive and her doctor recommended that she would need 4 treatments of chemotheraphy (1 treatment every 3 weeks).
On July 15, 2017, while preparing to put her mediport in the doctors noticed her incision from the lumpectomy was infected, so they had to clean her wound and push back the date to start chemo.
My sister will be out of work for longer than anticipated and I am creating this GoFundMe page to raise money while she is unable to work. I want to give her one less thing to worry about so that she may focus on her treatment and health.
Thank you all for the texts, calls, and prayers that have been sent to her. She is truly humbled at the response received over the last few weeks. For those of you who have sent her flowers, food and even someone's housekeeper, we thank you!
