Fundraiser 2022: Resources for Spanish Class!

Hello, friends and fam;

As you know, I am a High School Spanish teacher! I switched districts and will be making this high school my permanent home for a long while; AHS in Arlington, MA. (The picture is from some amazing students in UT that I had in Junior High that I got to see graduate!)

As I had explained before in my former fundraiser, I was in a large district while inUtah and always got my school to pay for all additional resources! I was SO spoiled! Here on the East Coast, our communities have much smaller districts (i.e. 83 schools total in my district in UT.) Therefore, I am unable to easily get these additional resources due to a smaller budget!

I am fundraising again for resources from which I feel the classroom will benefit: two individual-student subscriptions and a set of paperback books. Here's a description:

1. $150: Señor Wooly Subscriptions (It's a website filled with fun and comprehensible videos and myriad resources that really help students' proficiency levels to grow while having fun! Each student gets their OWN account tailored to THEIR performance level and does assignments according to their proficiency level. I love this resource so much that I already bought it, out of pocket...

2. $100: A 1-year subscription to 'EL MUNDO EN TUS MANOS'. Every other week, a team of Spanish teachers puts together this INCREDIBLE newspaper resource (10 pages of the most relevant. news) with many versions all scaffolded based on the language level of your student! Included are activities the students do with the readings! Talk about including Social Justice, Myriad Themes (focused on the Hispanic World), and AMAZING AUTHENTIC COMPREHENSIBLE INPUT.

3. $216.80: I want to order 22X 9.00 of the book 'Frida Kahlo' by Kristy Placido, as well as 1 $18.80 teacher book/activity resource provider. These books are physical copies so it gets to be a ONE-time purchase and I will keep them for years to come! It will be incorporated into a unit about 'self-expression'. We talk about Frida and the unit culminates with their own presentations of various artists they admire.
