Classroom books for Change- HRCSD

My goal is to develop empathy and empowerment in American children through providing culturally diverse books, authors and illustrators in elementary schools.  Also, to further develop awareness of injustices present in American society and breakdown racism.

This is a project for all of the Hood River County School District's five elementary schools, a GOFUNDME to raise money for the purchase of classroom books and a small collection of multigrade books for each library.   My priority is to purchase books through locally owned and BIPOC owned bookstores when possible.

My hope is to develop strong alumni and  community support as well as families active in the district's five elementary schools for building a united and compassionate new generation.  Teachers have been surveyed and provided an extensive wish list within just a couple of days.  Books will be delivered immediately and include a notecard naming donors.  I will provide 100% transparency for expenditures.  (*this is a not for profit project.)
