Clara Barriga Manabat
Born 12-29-1932
Passed 1-6-2021 @ 9:35pm

Clara was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. In her old age her son Terrence lived with her and took care of her every need. Her health declined towards the end of last year, but it was ultimately covid that she contracted just days before that caused her passing.

Since October Clara has been struggling with health complications that had her in and out of the ER and nursing home. It began with intestinal pain and mental illness brought on by a uti leaving her confused and in pain. She had surgery to have a feeding tube set up and then had to spend some time in a nursing home. It was early December that family got to see her last.

Clara had been in a Nursing Home for about a month plus. She was supposed to be released on Mon Jan 4th but had to be quarantined because her roommate tested positive for covid on the 2nd. She was rushed to the ER for a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin was low and it was there that she experienced early symptoms for Covid including a fever and cough. She tested positive but was coherent, just very scared and alone. On the 6th she needed help breathing and had to have 15% oxygen support. Just a few hours after getting the initial call about needing oxygen support the condition had escalated to where she required over 100% oxygen support to breathe. We all prayed for her to make it through, but there were complications and she ended up passing that night at 9:35pm from cardiac arrest.

Clara turned 88 just last week. She lived a long and full life and we are only sorry that due to covid restrictions she had to die alone without family in the room to hold her hand through the pain. The hospital and nursing home staff worked hard to do their best to save her but in the end it was her time to be with her husband and other family members and pets that have passed in eternal peace.

Our next move as a family is to pack up the home that her and her son Terrence shared as it is no longer in our family name after her passing and to prepare for her cremation/funeral services. All monies collected from this go fund me will go to helping to fund her funeral services, pay off medical bills, and help in the relocation move.

We appreciate all of your love, support, and prayers during this difficult loss.
