Clancy's Dream

 Clancy’s Dream

On July 30, 2016, Clancy suddenly crossed over the rainbow bridge.  He died as he lived, playing Frisbee with his “friends” at the farm.  Clancy was laid to rest in the peaceful surroundings of Dogwood Ridge.    His resting place is close to the front gate, because that was where he could be found most days, watching over the humans he loved the most, Kenny and Elaine.

For the past four years, Clancy’s human family, Kenny and Elaine, have rescued many dogs that were considered to be “at risk” dogs.  Many of the dogs had either been abandoned by their owners or listed on social media as “free to good home”.  Some had been abused, or with owners who could not to provide the necessary health care to their sick animals, and were dropped somewhere to die.

Clancy James was born on April 28, 2006, and was the beloved patriarch for the Border Collies of Dogwood Ridge.  He watched over the other dogs that lived on “the farm”, and he taught the dogs and humans he encountered, devotion, patience, and the meaning of unconditional love through his loving nature, and his soulful brown eyes.

Clancy was a trained therapy dog, bringing his amazing spirit and loveable personality to many nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Indiana and Kentucky.  He was the protector of the pack, but most importantly, he was a mentor for the rescued dogs that were lucky enough to enter the farm at Dogwood Ridge.  He was an integral part of the rehabilitation of the rescue dogs that were lucky enough to pass through Dogwood Ridge on their way to their forever families.

When Clancy passed away, Kenny and Elaine knew they did not want to let his memory fade, “Clancy’s Dream” was established so that all dogs could realize the dream of living a happy, healthy life.

The Goal of “Clancy’s Dream” is to provide a safe spot for unwanted dogs that need to be rehabilitated and re-homed here at our farm.   For the past 4 years, we have taken numerous dogs in and have a 100% success rate on finding good homes for them all.

Usually they are high risk or have social problems but over time, they always come around to see that humans and good.  When re-homed, there was never a cost to the new owner for the pet, just a promise that they will fulfill our wants for a good and safe environment to their new dog.

Because of the sudden death of our beloved Clancy and never wanting his legacy to die, we have established the vehicle to keep his spirit alive and to help continue the work we do including funding to Veterinarians or clinics to assist families who can’t afford medical help for their sick or injured dog and to assist and rescue dogs finding them a home, rather than euthanize them.

Because we have just started the founationd we need start-up money.  Know that ALL the money will go toward bringing Help and Hope to  Owners and their pet in Times of Need through Rescue efforts or Veterinary Care Assistance through our non-profit foundation...

Our foundiation was started when Clancy passed away “Clancy’s Dream” went from an idea, to a conversation, to a registered Nonprofit Foundation in just 10 days after his death.

We miss Clancy as do others. We pine over his death but now know that because of him, many other dogs will be rescued or given the medical attention they need through the donations and support from others. Our beautiful Clancy will live on through the lives he will help to save…

We thank anyone who will listen and help.  Not only will it help us have a memory from the loss of losing our boy. it will help hundreds of other unfortunate
dogs that does not have the chance of any life.

I can't thank you enough but know that dog that we save or rescue will forever be in your debt.
