Kiva's Fight Against Leukemia

Our Mother, Kiva Freeman, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), on July 27th, 2014. She is currently undergoing her first round of chemotherapy at Northside Bone Marrow Transplant Center in Atlanta, GA. Kiva is a strong woman of faith, surrounded by a loving family and a strong extended support network. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have received thusfar from all of our family and friends.

Kiva has a long road ahead of her and will be on this journey for a yet undetermined amount of time. During this time, we want to make it as easy as possible for our family to focus on getting our Mother well.

Contributions will go toward defraying the cost of her treatment, first and foremost. Additionally, her physicians have informed us that we will need to make certain renovations at her home for her recovery and MUST provide maximum protection from infection. These renovations include, but are not limited to the following:
- New flooring (original carpet in the home)
- Replace old living room furniture
- Window treatments
- HEPA filters
* More likely to come as we learn

Medical Costs including, but not limited to:
- Uncovered medical expenses
- Prescription medications
- Home care services 
- Office visits/Co-pays

Other Costs (as needed):
- Transportation and lodging expenses for the family
