Ted Hicban - Medical Expense
Donation protected
Imagine being 20 years old, alone in this world - This is Tiffany's story....
Last year, our dear friend Ted Hicban was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Ted is the single father to a beautiful college-aged daughter, Tiffany. We all know being a single parent is difficult, especially without family in the US to lean upon. Ted met those challenges by sending his daughter to college last year. Ted also met the challenge of battling cancer, through it all he fought through the pain of cancer with his big smile and loud laugh and tried to carry on the burdens of being sick by himself – a true description of being a fighter. Unfortunately the cancer has continued to weaken Ted and he is being transferred to Hospice Home Care this week. Tiffany will continue her studies but she will have many difficulties ahead, alone without siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and of course her parents. Tiffany is a fighter just like her dad, she will continue her education at UCSD. If you’ve ever met Ted you would know what a beam of light he is, he has so many wonderful traits, but the one that stands out to me is his effervescence; his warmth is beyond generous, he is truly rare in making you feel welcome, and wanted. Ted’s biggest fear is leaving Tiffany by herself, but he knows he did a wonderful job of raising her, after all has the same effervescence, strength and warmth that Ted does. There will be a lot of unknown expenses relative to his treatment, and we’d like to ask for donations to defray some of the costs so that Tiffany can begin her next few months focused on her schooling, and healing.
