Baby Cameron
Donation protected
February 26th, Cameron Roy Hilliard was born 39 weeks, via c-section at 7:33 a.m. 7lbs 11oz. Soon after he was born, the doctors came to check all his vitals and found his breathing to be fast and shallow. Because of that, they took him upstairs to the transitional nursery to hook him up to a cpap machine, OG tube and an IV. After 12 hours, the doctors and nurses decided the best way to help our boy was to transfer him to Avera McKennan NICU in Sioux Falls. They flew him by helicopter and dad drove while mom continued to recover at the Brookings hospital. We are both now in Sioux Falls. An X-ray showed Cameron has a pneumothorax and has to continue antibiotics for at least 7 days and wear an oxygen tent. Mom and dad have been staying at hotels on account of the Ronald McDonald house being so full. Unfortunately he is far from the only baby being treated at the moment. We are asking for help to put towards Cameron’s medical expenses hotel, and gas money going back and forth to Brookings for follow up doctor appointments for me (megan). We are not sure what the amount will come to but we are both unable to work while here and I (megan/mom) have been out of work since the end of November. Our other son was very sick for several months and missed a lot of work because of it. Any amount will help immensely and please don’t be afraid to put Cameron in your prayers.
Thank you.
Thank you.
