Dear San Diego County and beyond,
I hope that you are healthy, safe and near those you cherish the most and perhaps even employed.
This global pandemic has taken those we love, sickened our friends, isolated society, laid off many and virtually disrupted every aspect of our daily lives. In a strange way it has also brought us closer together even at a distance and allowed for enjoyment of the simpler things in life...family excursions, board games, family movie nights etc.
I'm there for each and everyone of my employees in fact consider them my other family, most have been with me since day one & helped me make City Tacos what it is today.. I see them more than my immediate family, share in their joys and sorrows and cant stand to see them worry about their uncertain future. Unfortunately i'm not able to provide for them any longer, had to lay off entire staff of 69 people till further notice and closed up every location in the county in hopes of re-opening when it is socially responsible to do so.
On March 17th (Taco Tuesday) we decided to go in a bang, donated all the food to my crews, tacos to our guests while encouraging donations and was able to raise over $5000 which was split evenly between all crew members and filled their fridges. I knew that the donations and food provisions wouldn't last long but at the very least it comforted those heads of household who work tirelessly day to day for their families and the american dream
As time passes, I worry more about their uncertain future and continue to coordinate efforts to aid them emotionally and financially in hopes that this will end soon.
Your donations will be given directly to all of the City Tacos family of employees and are sure to help them enjoy those simpler things in life with their loved ones.
