My name is Cindy Middleton. In 2011, I lost both breast to cancer and within the same year, I lost my job and my husband lost his business because of caring for me and finally we lost everything we had. My son graciously took us in and that is how we ended up in VA. We both found jobs. I have been blessed with the same one since arriving which is with Monarch Mortgage, but my husband has had a lot of ups and downs. After a year up here, I had another scare of cancer with my ovaries and had them removed, but thank God that was benign, because not only did I have breast cancer, but I had Cervical Cancer at the age of 19. Then, an emergency bowel obstruction surgery four months later and that one topped me out at my 38th surgery in my now 45 years of life. We finally got out of my son’s home and in our own apartment last May of 2015 and bought our own car. But then once again, in August, my health started going down again with Vertigo, migraines, and more and more back pain, (after a couple falls from the vertigo) and then in November they cut my husband’s hours at work and his health started declining. His weight dropped drastically and he had an internal hernia that was twisted. Needless to say, with his cut in hours and missed time from work with NO paid time off, and all of my medications, Doctor visits, tests, and deductibles…we are on the verge of losing it all again.
Now, I need my 5th back surgery on April 6th to get me out of some pain because none of the treatment or injections are working and they want all of their copays UPRONT before they do the surgery. All the donated funds from this campaign will go towards the cost of the co-pay for the surgery and medications needed. I am just at a loss for words, but I cannot give up, because what I have to say above all of this, is that I know how blessed that I am and God has carried me through so much. I have prayed for God to make a way when I found out this news and not 4 hours later had a friend that use to be a neighbor and co-worker, reach out to me and ask me if she could help. My God is still in control and still answers prayers and I don’t and can’t believe that I have been through as much as I have to stop and give up now. I have 6 beautiful grandchildren that I don’t want to miss a single second of so Thanks to everyone that helps and God Bless.
