Cindy Rising

After weeks of unexplained exhaustion and weight loss, our dear sister Cindy was diagnosed this September with stage three multiple myeloma, a cancer that affects the bone marrow (malignant plasma cells). Her doctor recommends six months of chemotherapy followed by either more chemotherapy or a possible bone marrow transplant.

Before falling ill, Cindy worked hard in her cleaning business for many years, and up until recently, also served as the primary caregiver for our 96-year-old mother. Self-employed and single, she hadn’t taken a vacation in years.  

Now unable to walk longer distances without the aid of a walker or wheelchair, Cindy won’t be able to return to work for at least nine months, since her doctor says her bones need strengthening, as her multiple myeloma has weakened her bones to the point of concern for fractures.

Cindy is loved by so many for being a sweet, kind, and caring person, who has great empathy and loves to laugh and serve others.

Any money donated will go directly to helping us meet Cindy’s pressing financial needs while she remains unemployed. These expenses include her living expenses (home, car, food, etc.) as well as prescriptions and other doctor-recommended treatments and supplements (to build bone mass, replenish low nutrient levels, and repair damage done by chemotherapy).
