Wright Family Memorial Fund
Donation protected
My 20-year-old brother, Michael Allen Wright Jr., was in a head-on collision on July 17, 2014. Michael suffered severe head trauma and was airlifted to a Seattle area trauma center. Michael had opted on his driver's license to be an organ donor. As the hours passed in the hospital, and my family became aware that Michael would not survive his injuries, the process of organ donation became a reality. Michael passed away on Saturday, July 19th, but remained on life support and was not taken into organ recovery surgery until Monday, July 21st. Michael was able to donate more organs than is usually possible. Michael's heart, right lung, pancreas, liver, both kidneys and corneas were all viable for transplant. Although we are very grateful that Michael's life has impacted the lives of others in this way, it has been difficult.
Our family has suffered emotionally as well as financially from this loss. Donations will be used to help pay for funeral expenses and related bills, most importantly the headstone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
