Cian's 'Iron Man' Challenge

Cian (Geraghty) is going to complete an “Iron Man” - swim (3.86 km), bike (180.25 km) and run (42.20 km) over several weeks to fundraise for Cian’s Kennels. The challenge will start on the 1st March and the swim will commence once our local swimming pool reopens.
Cian's parents heard about Cian's Kennels on Cian's favourite radio show - 2FM Breakfast with Doireann Garrihy and decided that we'd try and raise some money for it.

Cian’s Kennels
Cian’s Kennels is a charitable organisation set up in memory of Cian Neary. Cian was diagnosed with hepatosplenic T cell lymphoma in September 2018 but sadly lost his battle for life in the early hours of September 23, 2019.
When in hospital, Cian pined for his dog Cooper. With the support and goodwill of many people and organizations, Cian’s family managed to bring Cooper to Dublin and base him in kennels near the hospital. Cian visited Cooper most days, and the family cannot overstate the positive impact this had for Cian. Cian remained in hospital and on treatment until the last week of his life, and having Cooper based near the hospital allowed him to enjoy many occasions & outings in Dublin knowing Cooper was safe nearby.
Cian’s Kennels is to provide kenneling facilities close to the children’s hospital Dublin.
Phase 1 of the project is offering the service initially to families in St John’s Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, the oncology ward where Cian’s spent a lot of time during his illness. They propose to erect temporary holding kennels at the back of St John’s Ward, close to the entrance of Ronald Mc Donald House.
