Church of the Wildwood

Donation protected
The Little Church in the Wildwood, located in Horse Cove, is needing your help to open this year!! Due to the church being closed up for the past two years from Covid, there has developed an overgrowth of mold making it unsafe for visitors to gather at that location. This little church is a unique part of our mountain heritage and is very special to the tourists who visit Highlands every summer. It is a place where people from all faiths and all ages can come together to sing traditional hymns out of the Cokesberry Hymnal. We meet every Sunday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day although this year we have been meeting in the fellowship hall at the Highlands United Methodist Church instead.
We have had 2 estimates from qualified companies who have evaluated the work needed for us to get back in the building and it estimated to cost $3,600 dollars. The company who has been chosen to do the work has a three step plan for the mold remediation. Once the mold is removed we will need to install a commercial dehumidifier to help keep the humidity level in check. This will cost an additional
$1600 dollars.
Any donations will be most appreciated. We hope to have the work started as soon as possible so that we can once again make a joyful noise in the Little Church of the Wildwood.
Thank you in advance and God bless you!
