Chuck's emergency back surgery

I have had many dogs, but Chuck is my first field spaniel. Chuck is a heart dog for me - after I swore I would never get that attached again to a dog after losing my last true heart dog too young.. Then came Chuck. On December 6th we went to the vet due to his back being sore and we got meds. Then, on the morning of the 8th, I noticed severe weakness in the rear and rushed him to the vet. From there, we went to the specialist where the MRI showed a ruptured disc. He went in to surgery. Surgery went well! He is now back at home with a long road to recovery. While there is no good time for this to have happened, this has been a hard time for us. I had to quit a job I loved to help my parents when dad went in to hospice 6 months ago. After he passed, I started going to school for HR, working my own raw food business, and working part time at a kennel. We have been able to get by, but a surprise $6,800 dollar vet bill along with months of physical therapy to pay for just is overwhelming. We were fortunate to qualify for it all going on to care credit, but there is no way we can afford to pay it off.

For those who have met Chuck, you know what a wonderful, sweet boy he is. You know why he is so special. You know how he is ALWAYS happy to see you. He is too special to have not been given the chance to thrive.
