St Mary's Chromebook Appeal

With schools closed again to all but the children of critical workers and vulnerable children until at least 8th March, we at St Mary's have again put in place remote learning for our children.

Many more children are fully engaged and motivated in their learning during this lockdown as a result of our loaning out approximately 70 chromebook devices to those in most need.  However, we do not have enough devices and other tech such as routers and data top-ups to loan out to our families, especially those with several children, and those who have no or little access to technology at home.

This is where we need your help.....

Many of our parents and carers have recently asked how they can help support families further, and though I regret coming 'cap in hand to you', I do so in the spirit of doing whatever we can to help all children access their learning.  My aim is to minimise educational inequalities and the subsequent gap in pupil outcomes that are being exacerbated throughout this most challenging of times.

What we need.....

We estimate that we need approximately 50 more chromebook devices (which will cost in the region of £10,000), as well as other tech (such as routers and additional data) to support our families in need as well as families with multiple children. 

This is a huge amount I know, but any amount donated will go a significant way in helping to support our school community during these unprecedented times.
