Christopher Bougher Family Fund

Christopher Bougher passed away suddenly on May 27, 2017. He leaves behind his wife and three sons (20, 18 and 16 years old). He was 44 years of age.Obituary Link

Due to his heroic actions Christopher was medically retired from CHP. In addition to his law enforcement service he served honorably in the US Navy where he met his wife Theresa.

Theresa and the boys are struggling right now while waiting on CalPers benefits. Things like money for food, gas, utilities etc. are hard to come by. While his benefits are getting sorted out the Ventura County Military Collaborative (run by a CHP spouse) stepped in to pay the family's rent for July and August. Theresa has done the paperwork necessary for the benefits to reach her.

Everyone involved has been really helpful but due to a banking error the checks from the state have not yet reached Theresa. The amount is also a third of his CHP retirement. The Bogher family lives out of state which may have complicated the issues a bit. Theresa also did not ask for any help as she thought that his retirement benefits would continue for her (which they may...we are still working on that)

 We are ask ing for $10,000 because we believe that if each CHP family, retiree, Officer, Sgt, etc. is involved we can create a financial cushion for the Bougher family that has $80 to its name.
