Christine Dion K9 Memorial Portraits

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my GoFundMe page, my name is Christine Dion and I am a K9 Portrait Artist.

They say that a dog is "man's best friend". Imagine going to work with your best friend. You live with your best friend. You get to spend every day and night with your best friend. Your best friend may even save your life! 

But you know your best friend can only be with you for a limited time.  This is the relationship between a K9 and a handler. 

K9's come in all shapes, sizes and abilities. Some are strong like the Belgian Malinois or the German Shepherd. Others are inquisitive like the Plott Hound or the Bloodhound. Yet many other breeds provide comfort and care like Golden Retrievers and even Pomeranians!

My mission is to bring public awareness to the importance of the K9 and provide a priceless remembrance for the handler. I create K9 memorial portraits that are handcrafted pieces of original art. They bring endless comfort to the handlers and their families when the K9 is no longer by their side.

The portrait is a wonderful celebration of their K9 and the life of service they lived together.  If I can bring a tear to the eyes of the handler who receives the portrait, I've accomplished my mission!

But given the work they do, a handler and their respective police departments shouldn't have to pay for a beautiful memorial portrait.

That is where I need YOUR help.

I create each K9 memorial portrait for free. I spend approximately 15-20 hours on each one, from rough sketches to a refined drawing, to the final art and ultimately framing it.

I also pay for the frames and shipping expenses  ($200+ each) out of my own pocket. Currently I am able to create one portrait every 4 weeks since I am also employed outside the art studio as a high school art teacher.

With your support, my goal is to create 2 memorial portraits each month. This would result in 24 - 26 portraits each year that will bring comfort to well-deserving K9 handlers.
