Christina's Quest for Health

Christina is one of those people you meet in life who is just a loving spirit. Always has been.
It was no surprise that she became a teacher many years ago, spreading that deep inner sweetness and love of children to the classroom.
Unfortunately she has been battling a chronic and an increasingly threatening health condition that has left her often times debilitated. It’s one of those situations when you ask why good people get hit with bad things.
She has been struggling with large uterine tumors first diagnosed in 2011. They have taken away her ability to have children. And they cause extraordinary pelvic pain and dramatic blood loss - up to a unit - each monthly cycle. As a result, Christina has undergone numerous blood transfusions and suffers from severe anemia.
And the condition is getting much worse and more painful. One of the fibroids has recently grown to the size of a baseball, squeezing out the space of nearly the entire uterus and causing severe abdominal swelling.
We are trying to raise $8,900 for Christina to pursue a treatment called Acessa, which uses electric and magnetic energy to shrink the tumor rather than a more drastic hysterectomy. The procedure is tentatively scheduled for April 12th. But her insurance will not cover this. We don’t have a large family and as her sister, I’m a single, working mom and don’t have the money to pay for the procedure.
Please help Christina get back to her 7th grade classroom in Grass Valley, CA with a return to health, vitality and ability to share that loving spirit again!
We are incredibly grateful for your support!
