Christina’s Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lecia and I’m fundraising for Christina who is my loving wife, but is also a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Christina has been hospitalized for the last 10 days and have underwent multiple operations, experienced a few complications, and have received unexpected and devastated news. Yet she is hopeful and is a fighter.
Theres no better way to explain the what than to give you a timeline of events
In December of 2021, Christina had been experiencing abdominal pain and was rushed to ER but was diagnosed with gastritis.
2/2-2/4 Christina was admitted to the hospital because her leg was swollen and was diagnosed with DVT, there was a blood clot in her right leg. Surgery to remove said blood clot could not be performed because of confirmed pregnancy. She was placed on blood thinners to prevent future clots.
2/23 Christina went to the gastroenterologist and she ordered her a emergency abdominal ultrasound.
2/24 She was unable to sleep much and the pain became unbearable so she rushed to ER again. doctor was able to pull ultrasound and found spots and said it was concerning. She was admitted and transferred to hospital with OBGYN and hematologist specialists to further look into findings.
2/26 Doctors did MRI to get better imaging, said spots were found to be masses on the pancreas and liver.
2/28 Biopsy was performed because based on images they believe masses were cancerous.
03/01 Christina miscarried her baby and had emergency operation to pass pregnancy.
03/01-03/03 Christina was in ICU because her hemoglobin levels were low and she had to get plasma.
03/04 Doctors confirmed it was pancreatic cancer and Christina had operation to place port for chemotherapy treatments.
03/04/22-03/15/22 Christina fought as hard as she could and received aggressive care at Memorial Hermann
The physical, financial and emotional costs are extensive, unexpected and are far beyond what we hope many people would imagine. Donations would help ease stress on this new journey. Donations will cover treatments, medications, doctors visits, household and hospital bills, nutrition, and other related expenses.
If you are unable to give anything at this time we ask that you share our story and keep us in your prayers.
We appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown over the last few weeks and undoubtedly in months to come.
