From hiking snow covered mountains to entertaining hundreds of people with music, I never cease to explore new places and ideas. I had not yet snowboarded Mount Ashland and soon realized that they weren't kidding when they said "It's steeper on Ashland!" I was on my last run of the day with my snowboard when tragedy struck. I was just about home free until I caught an edge and began sliding then free falling nearly 100 feet to where I stopped. I had realized, laying there all by myself, this may be it. As I cried out for help, fellow skiers started to arrive with ski patrol to assess the damages... A compound fractured tibia, 5 broken vertebrae, 3 fractured ribs, a broken scapula, broken collar bone and a punctured lung. It seemed like a miracle to live through such a fall. Unfortuntely I don't have medical insurance but the doctors still put me back together the best they could. I would like to give my appreciation to the hospital but I am overwhelmed. Now I ask my friends, family, and the community to keep me in their thoughts as I will be without job and sinking fast in medical bills. My hope is that I will be able to return to the things I love; 14000 ft mountains, wildlife biology, and entertaining people through the arts. I graciously ask for support and prayers as I continue to heal and stay positive.
