Last night Chris was injured playing outfield during a softball game at Kimball Park. He went headfirst (head down) into the fence at full force. His head is fine, his spine took the brunt of it all.

***Being 1 week into his new job, they do not currently have insurance.  We are a softball family, so let's show how we can come together in a time of need and help out this amazing family.   Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.***

Please see below for updates on his condition (7:30pm 9/26/17):

HE'S HOME!!!!

Chris has been admitted to the ICU for monitoring and will remain there today for close monitoring. The plan is to move him to OU tomorrow.  He is still having tingling/numbness on his left side. The CT came back showing swollen cervical spine. He then had to get an MRI to get a better look as to what is going on. The MRI showed ligaments were stretched, and possibly torn.  The neurosurgeon saw him, said he looks good but still needs to review the MRI to check on his ligaments.  The admittance to ICU is strictly because they will be checking on him every hour.  He’s also being monitored to make sure the blood continues to flow to his spine. They have been checking on movement of his legs and arms and feeling. He can move his legs, arms, fingers, etc. Just feeling the tingles on his left side. He has a neck brace on and it will continue to stay on. We are not sure yet how long he will be in the ICU. We are hoping he will get moved to the Observation Unit and then eventually down to a regular room. He is at VCMC. He just got his "permanent" neck brace which he will need to wear for 12 weeks or so.  He is now up and slowly walking with assistance.
